I was honored to celebrate Lunar New Year earlier this month with the Asian Chamber of Commerce at the 30th Annual Lunar New Year Gala and Community Achievement Awards. It was a wonderful evening recognizing community leaders and celebrating the rich cultural traditions that strengthen our community.

Fun fact: the last Year of the Fire Horse was in 1966. This rare zodiac combination occurs only once every 60 years, as the Chinese zodiac cycles through 12 animals and five elements.

The Horse symbolizes energy, perseverance, and forward momentum, while the element of Fire represents passion and determination. Together they represent a year associated with progress, bold action, and positive change.

Wishing everyone a year filled with engagement, progress, health, happiness, and prosperity.

I am extremely honored to be endorsed and supported by Nevada Veterans, including the Armed Forces Chamber, Nevada Veterans Association, and Veterans in Politics International Inc. Thank you for your support, as well as your service to our community and country.

Honored to have attended the Bicentennial Valentine’s Day Ball hosted by Veterans in Politics last Saturday evening. It was truly a pleasure to spend the night among so many dedicated individuals, including elected officials currently serving our community, candidates running for office, and supporters committed to civic engagement and public service.

A special thank you to Mayor Shelley Berkley, Boulder City Mayor Joe Hardy, Brigadier General Robert G. Novotny, and former Nevada Supreme Court Justice Michael Cherry for your continued service to our community and for the insightful and inspiring speeches given that night. Thank you to Steve Sanson and Stephanie Phillips with Veterans in Politics for bringing everyone together for the evening.

On August 28, 1963, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. delivered his ‘I Have a Dream’ speech at the March on Washington, a pivotal moment in the Civil Rights Movement. Today, we honor Dr. King’s enduring dedication to equity, justice, and freedom.
